CALLS FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO INTERNATIONAL COLLECTIVE BOOK

"ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION AND TAXATION.

A MULTIDISCIPLINARY, COMPARED AND INTERNATIONAL APPROACH"

​

This call to participate is exclusively directed to prestigious researchers in the areas of collective books.

 

The book will comprise two volumes. One of them will receive written contributions in Spanish and Portuguese; and the other volume will receive contributions in English.

 

Interested researchers will be expected to submit their final papers by December 31, 2017, to publish the book during the first semester of 2018.

 

1. Issues. The international research network summons to recognized specialists and researchers to send contributions to an international collective book, covering the following topics:

(a) Environmental taxation and regulation, from different focus:

- Economic analysis; 

Law & Economics;

- Perspectives from Private Law (legal responsibility, insurance, consumption, contracts, etc.); 

- Perspectives from Public Law (competition law, labour law; regulations; etc.);

- General Theory:

- Comparative Law;

- Specific aspects, by specific country; 

Theory of Law; 

International Public Law; 

- Human Rights;  

- Sociological, economic, social, historical, political, philosophical, etc. of the environment, the economic system based on extraction of natural resources, and sustainable development.

2. Expected content for each collaboration.

Articles that are only essays are not accepted.

Collaborations should include:

- Objectives and scope of the study; methodology and data;

- A review of the most relevant literature in the area, a reference to the state-of-the-art or state of the issue (citing the most relevant bibliography in the subject matter), the main approaches or theories currently in use, and the possible contributions or new approaches proposed by the article.

- With respect of papers about legal issues, the author should do references to the most relevant legislation and judicial decisions, and he/she should include a brief explanation about the institutionality of the sector to which the article concernes (public authorities and their competences), such as the identification of the most relevant legal rules that regulate the area analysed.

3. Editorial rules.

Two volumes will be published, one in Spanish and Portuguese: another in English. Exceptionally, articles will be accepted in Italian and French.

Each paper must contain:

- Title

- Author (indicating the academic title (s) and the main institution to which he/she is attached)

- Separation of parts into 1), (1.1), (1.1.1).

Extension: Each collaboration will have an extension between 15 and 25 pages, in total.

Page: Letter size

Font and size: Times New Roman 12 points.

Margins: 2.5 cm left, right, up and down.

Line spacing: single line spacing (1).

Single space between paragraphs.

Alignment: Justified.

Do not include header, page numbers, or final bibliography.

Figures and tables. They are accepted exceptionally, and in black colour, numbered and referenced. If necessary, the format will be adapted to the requirements of the Editorial.

Reference. System ISO 690 and ISO 690-2, and complementary standards.

Footnotes. Times New Roman size 10, simple line spacing.

 

4. Shipping, communications and information.

In the reference of the email must be indicated "International collective book"

 

5. Relevant dates

September 1st - October 30th. Sending expressions of interest to participate, including: identification of the author, title and brief summary of the article that is postulated.

November 20th. The interested researchers should send the first draft of the article (the coordinators will not correct this version, which is only informative).

December 30th - February 30th. Sent the article in its final version.

Start date of the editing process: March, 2018.

Date that the publication is expected. First Semester 2018

 

6. Legal conditions.

The Editorial Committee may request the authors:

- Adjustments of form or substance. If you do not comply the requirement, the paper may not be published.

- Modify or change the reference system for editorial needs.

- Make any modification to one or more aspects of this call for papers.

The Academic Committee reserves the right to choose the publisher that publishes the book, and to opt for a printed, electronic version, or both.

The publisher may request the transfer of copyrights according to the general conditions of publication.
